Your Dig-Smart Calendar (Holiday) File

It’s 2010 so don’t forget to update the calendar file specific to your organization. Because Dig-Smart Analyzer allows you to customize your holiday schedule, it is important that the calendar file reflect the HR schedule of your utility. This is most important if  your utility runs color-ramping on the ticket table. For example, if you set Dig-Smart Analyzer to display all tickets due today in red, it must account for your holiday schedule (remembering that you may have 5 business days to complete a locate). So in order for a holiday to “be skipped” you need to update your calendar file at the start of each year.

Instructions:

  1. Open the QueryFields.xml file found under Analyzer\Config
  2. Edit the Calendar table using the following syntax:
<Holiday>
<Name>New Year’s Day</Name>
<Date>2010-01-01</Date>
</Holiday>

Continue to make any necessary changes or adjustments to your schedule. Again, this will ensure that when Dig-Smart Analyzer calculates “business days” it will ensure that these dates are exempt from the query making your reporting accurate and consistent.
